GROUP EXHIBITION – „Change is the only constant“ is an aphorism related to the doctrine of „universal flux“ by Heraclitus of Ephesus. The Greek philosopher also developed the thesis of the „unity of opposites“. On the final day of Gallery Weekend, a group of four international artists will present their works to the public. The exhibited positions demonstrate that these 2500 year old ideas are current and especially relevant for the digital age.
Ausstellung – „Ich will den Mord besingen, da ich die Mörder liebe“, lautet einer der radikalsten Sätze des französischen Schriftstellers Jean Genet. Das Spannungsfeld von Gewalt, Kriminalität, Sexualität und psychischen Abgründen findet in seinem 1947 erschienenen Roman Querelle de Brest (deutsch: Querelle) exemplarischen Ausdruck. Burkhard Driest und Catherine Lorent zeigen in der Ausstellung ihre jeweils ganz eigene Interpretation des Romans und seiner Figuren.
